Support SEGUINLAND

a New Model for Transformative Higher Education

At Seguinland Institute, we provide a crucial intervention on behalf of the next generation. We create immersive programs that engage the whole person—body, mind, and soul—in a transformative experience. Our invitation is simple: before launching into the world, dedicate a season to clarifying your vision of a good life and committing yourself to an expansive sense of the common good.

Your support allows students to cultivate the inner resources and skills necessary to nourish their communities and build a more beautiful, just, and sustainable world. No matter the size, your donation makes a meaningful difference to this work.

Seguinland Institute is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. Donations are 100% tax-deductible. EIN: 61-1550063

“The future belongs to those who give the next generation reason for hope.” - Teilhard de Chardin

More Ways to Give

  • Please mail checks to:

    Seguinland Institute
    21 Guide Board Hill Road
    Georgetown, Maine 04548

A friendly reminder for year-end giving: To ensure your gift is eligible for tax benefits in the current calendar year, checks sent via the U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked by December 31st. Because processing can sometimes take an extra day or two, we recommend mailing your gift a few days early or visiting your local post office for a manual postmark to ensure your intentions are captured for the correct year.

  • If you would like to direct a grant through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) or a private foundation, you can easily recommend a gift to support Seguinland’s future. To ensure your gift reaches us smoothly, please provide your fund manager with our tax information:

    • Seguinland Institute Tax ID/EIN: 61-1550063

  • Did you know many companies will match your donation dollar-for-dollar (or even more)? Employer matching gifts are a powerful way to double the reach of your support without any extra cost to you.

    • How it Works: Many employers—from large corporations to local businesses—offer programs that match their employees' charitable contributions to educational 501(c)(3) organizations like Seguinland Institute.

    • The Impact: Your $100 gift could become $200 toward advancing our mission!

    • How to Apply:

      • Check with your Employer: Ask if your company has a matching gift program.

      • Request a Matching Gift Form: Most companies provide a simple online portal or a brief form to fill out.

      • Submit Your Donation: Once you've made your gift to Seguinland, notify your employer. They may reach out to us to verify the donation, and we’ll take it from there!

Need our details? Your employer will likely ask for our Tax ID/EIN: 61-1550063.

  • If you are 70½ or older, you can make a huge impact by giving directly from your IRA. This allows you to support our mission tax-free, and if you are 73 or older, these gifts can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

    • Find instructions on how to give from your IRA here.

  • To give securities, please reach out to Philip Francis, Executive Director, at (207) 607-0645 or philip.francis@seguinlandinstitute.org.

Please note: Gifts are only considered complete once received by Seguinland’s account. For calendar year tax credit, transfers must arrive by 11:59 p.m. (EST) on December 31st.

  • We’d love to help you find a way to support our mission that feels right for you and your family. We recommend talking with an estate planning professional to ensure your gift reflects your heart’s intentions. If you’re looking for a simple place to start, FreeWill.com is a wonderful, free resource that helps you create a plan in about ten minutes.

Please let us know of your plans by filling out this Legacy Gift Intention Form so that we can make a note and send our thanks. We value your privacy and will not share any of your information.

  • Our campus and programs are enriched by the tangible tools of a life well-lived. We gratefully accept high-quality equipment that helps our students engage with the Maine landscape and the creative arts.

    • Boats & Maritime Gifts: We are honored to accept donations of seaworthy vessels, from canoes and kayaks to larger boats. We coordinate these gifts through our neighbors at Back River Boat Yard. Depending on our current needs, donated boats may be used directly by our students or sold to support our mission. In the case of a sale, 90% of the proceeds go directly toward our Good Life Scholarship Fund, with 10% going to Back River Boat Yard to support their expert facilitation and stewardship of the vessel.

    • Outdoor & Wilderness Gear: Quality tents, sleeping bags, and backpacking equipment in good condition.

    • Art & Craft Supplies: Professional-grade painting supplies, woodworking tools, or musical instruments.

    • Books: We curate a specific collection of books focused on philosophy, poetry, ecology, and the "Good Life." (If you have a collection you’d like to share, please send us a list of titles so we can ensure they fit our current library needs).

Please Note: To ensure we can properly house and utilize your gift, please fill out the Ways to Support form and a member of our team will be in touch with you.

  • As Seguinland grows, we are increasingly in need of the "behind-the-scenes" expertise that ensures our mission is sustainable and our foundation is secure. If you have a professional background in any of the following areas and wish to offer pro-bono or "low-bono" support, we would be honored to connect with you.

    • Legal Guidance: We occasionally seek assistance with non-profit compliance, land use agreements, or liability review as we expand our programs and campuses.

    • Strategic Planning & Growth: Help us refine our organizational roadmap as we move toward becoming a multi-campus learning environment.

    • Technology & Systems: If you have expertise in database management, website optimization, or digital security, your skills can help our small team work more efficiently.

Starting a Conversation: If you have professional skills you'd like to share, please fill out the Ways to Support form and a member of our team will be in touch with you.

  • At Seguinland, we believe that the act of working together is a cornerstone of a meaningful life. While financial support is vital, the Good Life is also built through shared labor, expertise, and presence. We are currently looking for volunteers with specific skills to help us tell our story and steward our space.

    Current Priorities:

    • Naturalists & Subject Matter Experts: We are looking for individuals with a background in ecology, botany, or wildlife biology to serve as mentors. A vital part of this role involves supporting our Coveside Fieldwork Residency, where alumni spend a month eco-mapping the shores of Robinhood Cove. As a subject matter expert, you might lead a morning field session, assist with plant identification, or guide students in reading the tidal patterns of the Maine coast.

    • Storytelling from Above: We are seeking a volunteer with drone equipment and experience to help us capture the unique beauty of our Georgetown campus from the air.

    • Carpentry & Craft: Our campus is a living project. We welcome those with carpentry skills to help with small-scale building projects, cabin maintenance, and infrastructure improvements.

    • Community Outreach: Help us spread the word! We need locals to assist with event flyer distribution in Georgetown, Bath, and surrounding communities.

Interested in joining us? If you have these skills—or others you’d like to offer—please please fill out the Ways to Support form and a member of our team will be in touch with you. We’d love to find a way to work together.
