Poetry Book Launch PARTY

The evening will feature a poetry reading by Summer, original live cello music composed by a Seguinland alum, Carolina Bragg in response to Summer’s previous collection, homemade refreshments, and lively conversation with guests and our current fall cohort of Good Life Semester students. (Note: You can see Carolina above with her cello in row boat after playing in the moonlight for our Fall Cohort)

On display will be a collection of works from Summer’s Ink Drop Drawing Series, a process-based body of work exploring the environmental, industrial, and historical impacts of Maine’s timber and paper mill economies, both broadly and on her Mi’kmaq family. Each drawing references a mile of the Penobscot River.

Our local Mockingbird Bookshop will join us in welcoming Summer and will have signed copies of What Came Down in the Smoke for sale onsite. You can also order copies in advance by contacting the bookshop directly.
